Even though Abu Sayed was publicly shot on the orders of the state, an Awami League member of parliament stated in a press conference, “We have looked into the background of that police officer; he is actually affiliated with Shibir, and he will be swiftly brought to justice.”
Regarding the brutal murder of 13 police officers in Enayetpur, Sirajganj, the Sirajganj Superintendent of Police described the incident to Prothom Alo, saying, “Initially, around a thousand people came to the police station but later left. Some time afterward, a group of 100 people came, surrounded the police station, and attacked it.” This clearly indicates from his statement that the general public did not carry out the killings. However, this raises a question: when a police station is attacked, it is expected that the well-equipped police force would resist, yet no sounds of gunfire were heard. This leads to speculation about whether the attackers were previously acquainted with the police and had cleverly trapped and killed them. Many believe this is a planned murder orchestrated by the government. In a desperate attempt to maintain its fascism on the world stage, the government may be trying to incite religious riots and using the police as scapegoats to label this as a fundamentalist movement, misleading the world to maintain its tyrannical grip.
Meanwhile, rumors of attacks on temples are being spread from various places. The Prime Minister’s son, Sajeeb Wazed Joy, is spreading false information on his Twitter account, labeling it as a terrorist attack, thereby inciting religious riots.
Below are the Facebook statements of two eyewitnesses, presented anonymously. The consecutive posts of the first eyewitness are noteworthy. Initially, they questioned the nature of the student movement and mentioned receiving rape threats (click on the image to see it enlarged). Later, they edited the post (as seen in the second and third screenshots) where they mentioned that the attack was not carried out upon seeing a Hindu house; rather, the attackers stopped and left after seeing the house was Hindu. Eventually, they deleted the post. This clearly indicates that the post was initially made to spread rumors of sabotage. Although they have kept a video of an attack on their timeline, they have not provided any details about who carried it out.
In the second and third screenshots, the first eyewitness states that they were not attacked for being Hindu; rather, the attackers stopped and left upon seeing a Hindu house. Therefore, the incident cannot be viewed from a religious perspective.
The second eyewitness reports that when some people tried to enter the Kali Bari temple in Rangpur, two people were injured with bamboo sticks and bricks at the gate while trying to stop them. However, no one entered or attacked the temple itself.
In such difficult times, the comments made by the Prime Minister’s son have sparked intense anger among netizens. However, everyone fears that, despite all strategies failing in the face of public unity, the government will use this incident as their last resort. Therefore, experts are urging everyone on social media not to be misled and are advising their Hindu brothers and sisters to stay cautious.
